Gippsland and the Lakes district is a spectacular and lesser appreciated Victorian tourist destination. This is quite surprising as this area has such a multitude of varied terrain with undulating hills, valleys, forests, waterfalls, lakes and beaches. This destination offers the traveller every possible activity, such as numerous challenging golf courses, beautiful beaches, great boating, hiking, cycling and more than 40 wineries. There are many interesting large and small towns including Yarram, Moe, Morwell, Traralgon, Maffra, Sale and the wonderful seaside towns of the Lakes District including Lakes Entrance, Metung , Paynesville and Mallcoota.
